Today started with an early morning workout. Thank you, baby girl, for sleeping so I could get my sweat session on!
Ever since Rosemary began teething about a month ago, she has become clingy to the max. She had previously been sleeping through the night like a champ in her crib, and then when the new shift in her behavior came along, we began cosleeping. When I try to get up early for my workout, I inevitably wake her up no matter how hard I try. Sometimes I am able to settle her back to sleep, and sometimes not, in which case Jonathon happily holds her at the end of the day so I can do my workout. Ya gotta roll with the ever changing ways of your baby and do what you can to make sure you’re getting your daily workout in!
My workout for today was something I came up with after perusing various kettlebell routines online. As an early Christmas present, Jonathon got me this kettlebell set. The 18 pound kettlebell has yet to arrive, but I did receive the 26 and 35 pounders. Since I am new to kettlebells, I wanted to create a workout that would help me practice my swings and front squats. Well, I feel like I got the hang of it and completely kicked my tail because I am sore in all the best ways. So here it is:
Make sure you have proper form while doing kettlebell swings and goblet squats! I recommend learning how to use kettlebells from a trained professional to avoid injury. Here are some links to tutorial videos:
After my intense workout, I was ravenous. My favorite breakfast lately has been oatmeal with raspberries and peanut butter and it hit the spot with a cup of black coffee. Some energizing snacks of late are the tahini granola bars from my last post, and this new favorite treat of mine: figgy pops! This bag of deliciousness from Costco was included in the superfood care package from my mom. It is so incredibly delicious and the apple cinnamon flavor makes it the perfect fall treat. I’m definitely planning on recreating it sometime.
Hope everyone had a nice day, and no matter the outcome of this election, remember to be loving and respectful:)
